Message from Your Class Vice President |
|
February 2010 Dear Classmates, My role as class vice president is very focused -- to help us reunite through mini-reunions during the time between our 35th reunion last spring and our 40th reunion in 2014 – gulp! A mini-reunion needn’t be grand, a lot of work or expensive. Three classmates connecting over hot chocolate is a mini; five women going to dinner and a show is a mini; eight classmates enjoying a Dutch-treat dinner and sharing stories is a mini. I am delighted the College has defined a mini-reunion as at least three people together from the same class – and I am trying to make sure pictures are taken whenever I am with at least two of you….no matter where we are. I hope you will do the same when you are together and will arrange to include them on our website. For those of you who know how much I hate having my picture taken, you will understand just how much of a personal sacrifice that is. Sue Esserman, our wonderful Class President, has already invited all of us to the first “big” mini-reunion (is that an oxymoron?) at her home in Bethesda on April 10th, and I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible there. During the next four and a half years, I hope we can continue connecting through several mini-reunions in various parts of the country, and I am delighted to tell you that Donna Davenport Smythe has already offered to host an event in Atlanta. For those of you who might attend, I hope you will let me know whether you would prefer a picnic at Donna’s home in the early summer or a theater event in the fall. Nancy Brown has set up links on our website so that you can offer a venue, suggestions or comments. Please feel free to contact me at any time about this. In the meantime, I wish you all a happy, healthy and productive new year.
