Message from Your Class Web Mistress - 2010 |
|
Now that our 35th reunion has come and gone, it is time to focus on the
next five years. For me in my job as your class web-mistress, that means
creating a web site that is vibrant, informative, and reflective of the
needs and desires of all of you.
I have been your web-mistress since Deb Bedell acquired our domain name (www.wellesley74.com) and we set up our first site in the fall of 1998. Since then, we have had three reunions - 1999, 2004, and 2009. The web site has been primarily used to disseminate information about these reunions as well as to faciliate record book submissions. In between reunions, it has sadly languished. For that to happen - I need all of you to send me information that interests you and that you think your classmates would enjoy. Using the web site to provide information from the class officers is important and we will continue to do that, but posting information for you is also important - the more class participation we have, the better! If you haven’t already done so, you can start by sending reunion photos (thanks to everyone who has sent me photos!) - To ensure consistency in the displayed images, please size your photos as close to 365x486 pixels for horizontal photos and 486x365 for vertical photos as possible. (If this doesn't mean anything to you, just send the photos...) But please be sure to include captions. Note that many camera software programs provide an email interface that includes a way to easily resize your photos. You can resize them (make sure to maintain the same relative dimensions of the original photos) and/or modify the “quality” of the photograph. Inage software can alternatively be used to modify the dimensions of the original photos. Both types of software also recalculate the total size of the photos for you. Click here to send me email with your photos and/or suggestions for how our web site can be a more effective communication vehicle for our class. Thank you,
